The Home Builders Association of Panama City-Bay County
  • Chartered in 1973, the Home Builders Association represents the interests of the Bay County building and remodeling industry.
  • The HBA is comprised of approximately 400 local corporate members representing the construction industry.
  • The HBA has conducted a Parade of Homes each year since 1975, offering a very unique marketing opportunity to local builders and associate members, as well as giving the general public the chance to see various new home styles and products presented by some of the best builders in the area.
  • Through the years, donations haven been made to organizations as varied as the Foster Parents Association, Hospice of the Emerald Coast, “Hardly Able” Construction Crew, Burn Camp for Kids and the Florida Home Builders Association Foundation, among others, to improve the quality of life for all citizens of Bay County.
  • Scholarships have been awarded continuously for more than thirty years to deserving high school students attending Gulf Coast Community College. Between $12,000 - $15,000 is awarded each year. In addition, a perpetual scholarship was created at Gulf Coast, as well as contributions to the Gulf Coast “Wall of Honor” Endowments Program.
  • A political action committee, BAYPAC, was created for the purpose of helping elect pro-housing candidates to local and state offices – the only one of its kind in Bay County. Each election year BAYPAC conducts political forums to introduce candidates to the membership.
  • Numerous state and national sponsored educational programs, conventions and meetings are offered to give members the opportunity to improve their knowledge of the industry.
  • Monthly general membership meetings are held to inform the members and allow them the chance to meet and get to know others in the industry. Special functions are held such as Table Top Night, giving associate members the chance to present their businesses to builder members and each summer a golf tournament and Bar-B-Q, just for the fun of it.
  • The National Association of Home Builders, representing HBA members nationwide, work closely with Congress and the President for the betterment of the housing industry through fair legislation.
  • The Florida Home Builders Association supports the local association in many ways – from producing the Southeast Builders Conference (the largest regional building industry trade show and education conference in the South), to offering association sponsored insurance programs for members.

The local, state and national associations exist to support housing in America, from Bay County all across the country. This is as it has been since our charter in 1973 – to now – and to the future.
